Think Again.

Mercury comes home in Virgo, the same with it's spazzy cousin, Gemini. Yes, it's a planet of double duty.  While Gemini in Mercury runs on concepts, Virgo deals with factual and analytical methods of thought. So, what to do to sharpen your brain for this transit’s maximum power?  7 must-do's:

1.     Feed your brain. Read and research. Your intellectual power to absorb new ideas will be strong. Sign up for a class, join a book club, enter a new realm of thought.
2.     Reevaluate routines. Look for shortcuts on your commute and other ways to streamlined life.Wasteful habits will end now.
3.     Virgo is the ruler of health, making it the best and luckiest time to make sure all is going as it should. Rid yourself of the hypochondria, at the least. 
4.     Summer cleaning! Your brain will be in edit mode, so if there is any time to clear the clutter from your life, it’s now.
5.   Hang with the animals you love. Virgo is the sign of pets and will bestow powerful bonding moments you can will learn from.

Time To Get It Straight


Virgo is all about making things matter and as the summer is coming to a fast end, now is the time to get back into the detail-orientated and result-minded way of life ....So, this week, it'll mean my attempt to post my favorite Style By Sign video of the week on time from now on and Bite My Style... Of course, this week is filled with so many cute, funny and unexpected delights, which makes all of them fun to watch and hard to pick a fave -- but it has to be Sag. Not only because it has my current favorite dress (the feather number I got on eBay), but because I remind myself of Jujubee (one of my fave Drag Queens and my choice of who could play me in a Lifetime biopic)...Anyway, as for my main look and how to:

Bite My Style: My cute Peter Pan collar dog-print dress, which I for some reason when I bought, I thought the red part was a hydrant. Anyway, it was too cute and whimsical to pass up and last year, when I bought this dress and two others at Think Closet (Mulberry St.), it was just what I needed, as there was something sucking all the hope out of me...That day, there was something inside me that made me feel hopeful again and my expression was shopping. I even got a discount from the shop-girl as an incentive to buy three dresses, which was just lovely, considering I know that all the stuff in the store is from Korea and I know how crazy their mark-ups are (like 300-400%)...but whatever, their stuff is cute and if it means buying the airfare for the dress to have come into the country, then so be it. Until then, I'll shop 'til I drop, as in buying cute clothes makes me need to have places to show them off....And as for the accessories I'm wearing this week, it's again all the same tricks I pull out every week, with slight variations.

Hmm, that's interesting.

Ok, I'm totally lame. It is actually Sept. 23rd today (the second to last day of the Mercury in Virgo transit) and this post was suppose to be written for Sept. 9th -- and the thing is, I was SUPER EXCITED about this day too, but then things spiraled on and off the priority list and voila, two weeks later...

Anyway, what this post is about: my fab experience in Asbury Park, New Jersey, at one of my favorite places ever -- Paranormal Books and Curiosities, in attendance for a SEANCE!!!!

Although I've been to seances before, none were the cinematic version that I craved. My first was when I was in high school, during the summer, when I tried to host one. My friend's mom was out of town, so we threw a party, which I then held a seance for anyone who wanted in on. I had bought some trade paperback book on how to hold a seance and only read the summary in the back at that point -- so, as you can tell, it was an obvious invitation for trouble.

By the time the evening got late enough, I assembled a circle outside, under a tree and then had every one close their eyes and concentrate on calling a spirit and said whatever the directions I read said to say. Enough minutes later, nothing was happening, so I then screamed, to freak the shit out of everyone. My one really scared friend sitting across from me, then instantly jumped the entire length of the circle and then a moment later, a branch fell from the tree and we then all got freaked out, immediately ending the seance. Then the next morning, I woke up with a bloody nose. After that, I thought it was best I never hold another seance again -- at least not without really reading the entire book on it...

One of my favorite movies of all time!!!!! I lived and breathed to have my life be just like this when I was a little angst-ridden teen that only longed to be so punk rock. lol. No, seriously, I did do it in my own little colorful way and this movie was the outline for everything I thought was cool. I still love this movie to death and will always fondly remember reciting the lines of it with my friends over and over again when we weren't watching it over and over again....ahhh, true love is beautiful!

Crash Course Berlin Cliffnotes: 24 Things I Learned In Berlin.

1. Everything goes in Berlin.
2. With drinking not demonized, as in you can drink in public and at the age of 16, Berlin's streets are seemingly puke free.
3. You can't get lost as long as you see the TV tower, the tall thing with the silver ball on top.
4. Berlin's architecture is amazing, with old and new layered upon each other throughout. There is something to be said about having to rebuild your city that many times...
   
5. German ice coffee has ice cream in it.
6. The fanciest McDonald's I've seen is at Checkpoint Charlie. It has a balcony.
7. The art at the East Side Gallery (painted slabs of the Berlin Wall) is mostly mediocre. Who chose these artists anyway?
8. Outdoor bars and clubs are all over and admission can get you in for a few days--as that is how long some parties in Berlin last.
9. You can find any good time you want in Berlin, if you just ask or keep walking.
10. If you want to see the inside of Berliner Dom, the city's largest church, you have to pay. The only church I know of with an admission.
11. Tiengarten is the largest park in Berlin. Not the prettiest, but you can go naked here. (The walk through the park that spits you out at The Brandenburg Gate is lined with trees that have eyes. It's very Brother's Grimm.)
12. Pretzels here are the size of my head.
13. You are not allowed to take a picture of the Nefertiti bust in the Neues Museum.
14. The double-decker 100 public bus runs late into the night and will take you past or near most of the main tourist attractions of the city: Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Schloss Bellevue, Unter den Linden (Berlin's fanciest street). You can pick it up near Alexanderplatz or Zoologischer Garten train stations. The best part is tearing up to the top with your ruthless friends, to get the front seats.
15. If you're going to eat Currywurst, get it at a German food stand, not a Turkish one.
16. Prostitution is legal and the average cost of the street variety is 80 euros. To find them, go to Oranienstrasse and look for the girls in the white or pink patent leather thigh-high stiletto go-go boots.
17. Even though the park's name in Potsdamn is Sanssouci, nothing goes there. You can't picnic or even sit on the lawn.
18. Most of the hot guys are 17 or dirty and barefoot, or all of the above.
19. Karaoke at Mauerpark is the most amazing karaoke. Positive vibe overload.
20. My name is on the Berlin wall, next to Shlomi's and my friends Jay and Joe's, who were in Berlin two weeks before I got there.
21. You can spend a day in a bikini in Berlin, at the lakes and at Liquidrom--in the amazing salty floating pool (I took a nap on the water!!!!) ...or you can be naked all day too.
22. Everything is bigger in Germany, the feet of their men and their super plus tampons.

Who has time to spare when Mercury is in Virgo? No one....So much so, I ran out of time to even think of anything to write here today and it's already 4 am August 3rd...Is this what the next few weeks is going to be like? I can only wonder...
