Mercury Retrograde In Aquarius

Turning Convention On It's Head

Retrograde — the word that breeds fear into many. After all, it means losing more control of the little we have. Yes, the universe has a certain way of ping-ponging the energies in our lives to keep us on our toes, but none as aggravating as the one known as Mercury Retrograde. Plus, when it is in Aquarius, the sign that rules technology, you can expect this one to be one humdinger of a roller coaster ride that has no rhyme or reason. However, is there cause to fear? Not if you’re prepared!

To circumvent the anguish that is Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius, foolproof your life to make this calamity work for you:
·      Ever dream of being off the grid? Make this your chance, but do it staycation style. With Mercury ruling commuting, trips of any sort can be plagued with misadventure. Best to kill it at home with candles, books, your baby and a stockpile of snacks that can last you for days. Not only effective in realigning your chi, but being a bit green during this cosmically kooky time will score points in the world of karma.
·      Technology isn’t complete trash during this time. In fact, social media accounts you’ve been off or video games you use to play can have a renaissance now, as in logging in those old passwords and rediscovering a world you’ve left behind.
·      Aquarius rules friendships and in honor of a retrograde, be proactive by being the one to reach out to anyone from your past you’ve been thinking of apologizing to or to reconnect. Whichever the motive, a Mercury Retrograde is your rip-in-time to set relationships with history back on track.
·      Stop and edit your masterpieces. Instead of pushing to get past creative blocks, avoid anything new. Best to perfect what you have. Retrograde periods are for tightening drums and discarding red herrings. Yes, work with what you’ve got.
·      Allow yourself to be non-committal. The world will be operating at wonk level and so no matter how hard you try to resist, it won’t change. Be vague and explore. If you can avoid signing any dotted line until post-retrograde, then you’ll be playing to win.

Mercury Enters Sagittarius

Who’s The Turkey Now?

At 9:26 pm EST, just as many Americans will be slipping into turkey comas, Mercury will enter Sagittarius — which means not only cranberry and stuffing will wind up in many mouths, but also one’s foot. Yes, ‘Tis the season of TMI, which will last until December 16th -- and know that under this transit of truth, nothing will go unsaid. So, to use this aspect to your advantage and get answers you want, know what conversations the signs will be most vulnerable to blabber on in now:

Fire Signs (Aries, Leo & Sagittarius)
Fire signs are fearless and shoot their opinions out like wildfire. Consequence is never on their mind and their tempers tend to be short and opinions sharp. Controversial and taboo subjects bring out their heat, but it’ll also mean never-ending diatribes to anyone that vaguely disagrees or is within earshot.

Air Signs (Gemini, Libra & Aquarius)
Air signs love gossip, but when a tricky aspect like foot-in-the-mouth Mercury in Sagittarius hits, it’s every person for him or herself, as conversing with them can be like tuning into a tabloid show. Expect all the family dirt to be out on the table by dessert.

Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces)
Water signs are awful at lying, because they wear their emotions on their sleeve. Only in the case of deep turmoil will they shroud the truth, pretending it doesn’t exist. However, Mercury in Sagittarius makes all bets off and when it comes to understanding their feelings, now is when you can open their floodgates.

Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn)
Earth signs are material, yet hate to talk about money. Sure, they like to brag, but if you want to find out the nitty-gritty about their finances and the secrets behind their hustle, this is when the tipping point can hit and the 411 payout begins.

Mercury Enters Back In Scorpio

Agent Provocateur

Mercury is back in Scorpio, post retrograde, as of November 8th, but it’s on Monday, the 10th, that the chatty planet goes past the degree it stalled on and can finally free you from the drama and traumas of the slow-down. Yes, with  the curiosity powerhouse back in full force to experience itself in the sign of sex, what are 5 must-do’s for all signs to best light up their minds for ultimate satisfaction?

·      Share a secret sexual fantasy, because even if you don’t actually perform it, the mental sharing of sauciness will be enough to titillate an exploration that will reveal what you and your baby really can bring into the bedroom.

·      Snooping doesn’t happen in healthy relationships. However, if you want to do investigate your baby to find something sweet — ideas for holiday presents — then, this is when a divine intervention will work for you.

·      Sexting and teasing with pics, words or any form of creative expression will have 10xs the power to rock you and your boo’s world. Remember, your mind is your most powerful sex toy.

·      Skeletons in the closet, take them out. Reveal vulnerabilities to heighten the intimacy on every level. Bravery is only the beginning of the rewards you’ll feel from this.

·      Keep your eyes on your own paper. Scorpio is the sign of jealousy and envy can test one’s confidence continually. Trust where you are in life is exactly where you need to be for absolute empowerment for your destiny.

Mercury Retrograde into Libra

Oh yeah?!
Yeah!

Mercury is now back into peace, love and happiness Libra, making it more evident what is not copacetic. Seems the brains of those not at peace will be tossing and turning more, until they have made peace with something in their lives that needs rectification. So, whatever loose ends are hanging about in your life, time to make the cuts or tie it back up in an official sort of way.

Yes, this is a time of making amends and redrawing agreements to suit the needs of everyone involved, not just yourself. A lot of formality will be needed, but as long as you show respect, this is a time that won't be too miserable. After all, Libra is ruled by Venus, so endings will likely be fair... Of course, when Mercury zooms back into Scorpio, it might mean being punched back down, but if you do find that to be true, then take it as a karmic shot for having to relearn your rights and do onto others as you want them to do onto you.

Note: October 25 is the day Mercury will go direct.
November 8 is the day it reenters Scorpio.

Mercury Retrogrades In Scorpio

Say What?????

Do not fear Mercury Retrograde! Yes, it’s in the death sign of Scorpio, which means intense rebirth is par for the course now (if only your techno gadgets) — but there is a sunny side up to all. Sure, there is a threat of reaching a sort of rock bottom first, but that only means a rise to power as high.

Scorpio is the sign of surprise and its methods of communication are covert. In the information learned there are always many convoluted red herrings and the best way to master this beast is to know positive resolutions exist. For example, on how to keep the hope alive:

1.     People from the past show up. In Scorpio, it’ll likely be old booty calls or intense loves. Who says a second time around isn’t fate?
2.     Scorpio is a behind-the-scenes kind of energy, so expect brilliant ideas will appear, regarding aspirational projects you’ve let go. A breath of intense air is blowing; its muse can awaken you.
3.     If technical breakdowns happen, teaching you the ultimate lessons of back up, focus on the new gadgets you can get to get back into the game wiser.
4.     Traveling to places you’ve been will be just the getaway, as familiarity will be what soothes now.
5.     The bitch factor of a retrograde cycle intensifies and you won’t be alone in this, because if misery loves anything, it’s company. Party the night away with other sour souls that feel they have nothing to lose and adventure will ensue.
6.     Old money dealings will payout — like getting paid back in full from someone you forgot you loaned anything to, investments that suddenly matter or finding cash in an old coat pocket.
7.     …And if ever there’s a time for sensational gossip and mind-blowing slips of the tongue, it’s Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio. Cliffhanging/glass dropping info that can destroy reputations of those that need the most humility.

Mercury In Scorpio

Gonna Make You Mental

With a string of freaky and gross happenings arriving in a cluster, know it's Mercury in Scorpio making your mental. Like licking lyseric lollipops inside a horror movie set, life will take that experimental route, as nothing appears as you think and straight-up reminders of how delicate sanity can be come right at you.

Me, in just 48 hours, have had a large loudly buzzing fly somehow stuck inside my bathroom light, violently fluttering in a wonky circle, in the process of death,....several hours later, I'm walking towards my bathroom, step on something with a crunch sound and discovered it was the dying fly on the floor, still partially alive....FF 24 hrs, discovering a roach hijacked itself into my apartment by way of take-out utensils. (It upsets me more, since I ALWAYS request, "No utensils," but still get them 80% of the time)...FF 12 hrs. I'm in the subway and the person sitting perpendicular to me coughs, doesn't cover his gross mouth and I feel spittle on my neck. Of course, he was vile and of course, my instant response was grossed out bitch face, scaring him almost as severely as he repulsed me. (Luckily, I was prepared with sanitizer and wipes.....Still, it wasn't until 8 hours later, when I was able to shower, that I felt it was fully removed.)

....and to top it all off, in total randomness, I am totally weirded out that Chelsea Clinton's baby was born at 7:03 pm on September 26 -- because it is the EXACT time and day my cat had died years before and both in NYC. My friends and I joked that it's the reincarnation and I had to become the nanny. They loved the idea of me training her to use a litter box.

...anyway, a lovely song for this day:

Mercury Enters Libra

1+1 = Done

Summer's official end is now, with school bells ringing and new deadlines looming. However, instead of diving deep into the doldrums, the universe is sweetly helping reduce this painful transition with Mercury in calming Libra at 1:38 am today until September 27th. This means no need for concerns, as this time is when worry is just another 5-letter word. To make the most of this transit, follow these 5 basic rules:

1.     Relax. Libra is an air sign that moves life organically along at a moderate pace. There's no sense in rushing to get you where you’re going, because speed won’t matter now. Easy breezy thinking is a prerequisite for success. So, inhale and exhale.
2.     Cultural Stimulation. Ruled by Venus, Libra is in charge of culture and beauty. Anything from spending more afternoons at museums, getting tickets to a play or dating a musician will tune you into the power of art as muse.
3.     Team Up.
By nature of this partnership sign, best to bounce thoughts off another or work with someone on projects, because 2 heads will be luckier than 1 now.
4.     Manners Matter.
Elegance is a hallmark of the Librian way of life and playing fair and being kind is law, as karma will be fast to smack you back down now if you don’t.
5.     Demand Diplomacy
Being nice doesn’t mean being a pushover. Be willing to defend yourself and what you believe when necessary. Fairness will win out.

Mercury Enters Virgo

Think Again.

Mercury comes home in Virgo, the same with it's spazzy cousin, Gemini. Yes, it's a planet of double duty.  While Gemini in Mercury runs on concepts, Virgo deals with factual and analytical methods of thought. So, what to do to sharpen your brain for this transit’s maximum power?  7 must-do's:

1.     Feed your brain. Read and research. Your intellectual power to absorb new ideas will be strong. Sign up for a class, join a book club, enter a new realm of thought.
2.     Reevaluate routines. Look for shortcuts on your commute and other ways to streamlined life.Wasteful habits will end now.
3.     Virgo is the ruler of health, making it the best and luckiest time to make sure all is going as it should. Rid yourself of the hypochondria, at the least.
4.     Summer cleaning! Your brain will be in edit mode, so if there is any time to clear the clutter from your life, it’s now.
5.   Hang with the animals you love. Virgo is the sign of pets and will bestow powerful bonding moments you can will learn from.

Mercury Goes Direct In Gemini

Look Ahead!

With the pesky retrogrades of the entire year finally coming to a soft pause, this is the time to put plans into order for some paradise! From my blogpost from astrology.com, Star Studded Vacation Ideas. How to make the most of your summer--as it actually is just starting now.

"Summer is here and it’s all about vacation. While you might not have the budget of a celebrity, you can still have the same kind of fun, as there is no limit to the fun or romance this season, if you plan right.

Fire Signs
Aries (Sarah Jessica-Parker)
Leo (Jennifer Lawrence)
Sagittarius (Brad Pitt)
This is your summer to be as quirky as you want to be, as you want to get to the party before everyone else gets there. Yes, you’re a trendsetter that likes to place your flag first and claim those bragging rights. Places left of center is your idea of fun: Beaches of Croatia, Casinos of Monaco or The Underwater Hotel of Dubai.

Air Signs
Gemini (Kanye West)
Libra (Kim Kardashian)
Aquarius (Ashton Kutcher)
This is your summer to learn and venture to places that hold a historical significance to the world or to you personally, like visiting your family’s homeland. However far and wide you wish to go, knowledge is what you’ll cherish most about what you experience, so go for the gusto and get deep. Ideas: Greece, Israel or Grand Canyon.

Water Signs
Cancer (Sofia Vergara)
Scorpio (Leonardo DiCaprio)
Pisces (Justin Bieber)
This is your summer for spiritual awakening, as its time to reboot your mind and body with a new understanding of yourself in this world. This will require going solo or with your honey, as less will be more now for you — in terms of energies you want to deal with. Places to visit: Nepal, Easter Island, or Teotihuacan, Mexico.

Earth Signs
Taurus (Cher)
Virgo (Beyoncé)
Capricorn (Kate Middleton)
This is your summer for enjoying beauty and going some place to take in stunning vistas and relax. If course, as an earth sign, you will also like to have a little physical challenge to get to the best — as in places that require hikes or some sort of adventure to get its paradise. Ideas: Alaska, Machu Picchu or Patagonia."

I fucking hate the new Mac operating system! If deletes files immediately when put in trash and won't let me delete pics in preview...If it didn't have this fucking hiccup, I wouldn't have had to be haunted by my stupidity of not attaching a file to one of my editors and then having to write my blog post all over again....and don't even get me started on how many times I have to write the same tweet, because of errors...or how many times I have to reboot my internet connection....or the fucking papercuts I've been plagued with....and it's only day one...

Day 12
WHERE IS THE INTERNET SOUTH OF CANAL?

Day 13, 14, 15

Mercury Goes Retrograde In Cancer

24 Days Of Mental Disturbance...
1. 2 blown-out tires in mts of Trinidad. (Luckily, lots of    hotness to the rescue & the party went on! #bunz)

2. Leaving our Trini family... Even their car was sad, overheating soon after we were dropped off at the airport . :(

3. Zzzzzzz.........

4.
2 flat bike tires.

5.
8 credit card "customer service" agents, 2 hours later, 0 resolution...yet.

6.  A limp launch of The World Cup, even in Little Brazil.

7. Crackheads.

8. A shitious day of anti-climatic World Cup watching. Wrong predictions and Uruguay sucking hard -- but still, not as hard as Greece. Thankfully, Colombia rocked my world... I'd say more, if I knew what is actually going on. So, I won't.

9. Being stuck on a line for 30 minutes with a SMELLY person behind me that had NO sense of personal space. NO, not Mercury Rx, just me being a bitch.

10.  2 days later, still can't get my friend's ginormous TV to change channels....stupid.

Mercury Enters Gemini

I Just Can't Stop Looking....

Gemini may be where Mercury belongs, but it doesn't make it right. In fact, by nature of the planet and the sign, it'll mean submerging into chaos and curiosities, willingly and accidentally, with the quest for information obsessing you, as you dart ahead in non-sequiturs.

Yes, Mercury in Gemini will amp up your mind with a million new curiosities, all at once: big and small, tall and short, merry and morbid, etc... etc...

...and trying to avert your eyes from train wrecks will be impossible, as you can't help, but want it all, no matter how dirty it gets or how devious you have to be to get. So, get ready, set and go, as they'll be no exploration that won't have it's rewards now.

....and on a side note. Mercury in Gemini also hits during the initial warmer weather of the year, as least in the Northern Hemisphere -- and in NYC that means roadkill time, as all the critters great and small come out to prance about. So, the first roadkill I see in a year is like the gunshot at the start of a race, counting down to summer...This time around though, I happen to be in Florida, where I got treated to a more exotic site, Exhibit A....but not to be outdone as soon I returned to NYC (Exhibit B), on my 1st bike outing right around the corner.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

No, not a necessary addition, but just couldn't stop myself. The armadillos is like nothing I've ever seen or smelled....Although, I have caught the scent of sea lion carcass...Merry Mercury In Gemini!
