New Moon In Gemini

I Found My Doppelgänger!


May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and who knew, while watching HBO's series to celebrate the month, "East Of Main Street," I would find my doppelgänger in their episode called "Small Talk." ....Not only do we share the same heritage, but all her answers could of come right out of my mouth! Plus, I love she was the only child to choose glamorous careers (18 sec. is my favorite!) and the only one with an aversion to being tied down. She rocks!!!! Hope children like her are the future!

...As for the crappy title pages between the segments, with the question to the answers she gives -- I don't know how to get the page to be a normal size, to be fully legible and I spent hours trying to sort it out...but with my short Gemini rising attention span, offset with the energy of this new moon, I no longer care.

I Just Can't Stop Looking....

Gemini may be where Mercury belongs, but it doesn't make it right. In fact, by nature of the planet and the sign, it'll mean submerging into chaos and curiosities, willingly and accidentally, with the quest for information obsessing you, as you dart ahead in non-sequiturs.

Yes, Mercury in Gemini will amp up your mind with a million new curiosities, all at once: big and small, tall and short, merry and morbid, etc... etc...

...and trying to avert your eyes from train wrecks will be impossible, as you can't help, but want it all, no matter how dirty it gets or how devious you have to be to get. So, get ready, set and go, as they'll be no exploration that won't have it's rewards now.

....and on a side note. Mercury in Gemini also hits during the initial warmer weather of the year, as least in the Northern Hemisphere -- and in NYC that means roadkill time, as all the critters great and small come out to prance about. So, the first roadkill I see in a year is like the gunshot at the start of a race, counting down to summer...This time around though, I happen to be in Florida, where I got treated to a more exotic site, Exhibit A....but not to be outdone as soon I returned to NYC (Exhibit B), on my 1st bike outing right around the corner.

Feel Like The Queen Of Sheba

It's week four of Style By Sign and things are falling into place. I am loving script writing, styling looks and working with people. As a writer, my typical work day requires I talk and see no one, which is shocking considering how much I do talk and like to talk. Sure, I have no problem talking to myself, but having responses from someone other than myself is kind of nice.   

As to Bite My Style:
My dress is from Stone Flower, a cute and totally random store I found one day at South Street Seaport. That place has the crappiest collection of stores, but Stone Flower is a little treasure. They're from Thailand and there are two locales within the Seaport; one for clothes, another for accessories.

This cute dress is from their summer collection -- the headband is suppose to be tied around the waist, but in a homage to The Stepford Wives, the original, which was on this weekend, I wore it as a headband to give a more retro look. The pearl drop earrings are another pair from my G-ma's amazing collection and my Wilma Flintstone necklace was a b-day gift from my friend Mina. The white gloves I picked up ages ago at Screaming
Mimi's; my pink bow belt is Ted Baker and shoes are Bruno Magli (the brand OJ made famous) which I bought last summer at Artists and Flea in Williamsberg, at the vintage stall on the right side just as you enter.


As for my Queen of Sheba look, it's mostly comprised of stuff Jeffrey, our producer, found around the office. My black Tracy Feith shift dress was the only thing that belonged to me and the infinity scarf and gladiator lace up sandals were Jozie's, the hottie behind all my fantastic hair and make-up.

Hey Y'all, today was a major day! In fabulous eclipse fashion, I got a call during the new moon eclipse in Taurus by the fab people at Bedrocket, wanting to see about moi hosting their weekly fashion-centric horoscope show for their style channel, LOOK TV...this lead to that and hoorah, today we filmed our first show!!!!

Double trouble or double the fun?

It's actually Wed. AM right now and I am still thinking about Monday and wondering WTF did it all mean? So, to get right down to business -- it was a freaky day chock-full-of super strange coincidences and odd occurrences ...The day started late, as I vegged in my bed most of the AM...Later in the  afternoon I went out for coffee and to write in my journal for an hour. After, on the way home I stopped by a store and bought a pair of black flats, then dropped them off and walked over towards Mott St., to where I was meeting my friend Kizzi for dim sum...On the way, I stopped in at a Buddhist temple to get a fortune, which I love doing. I usually go to one closer to my apartment, with the biggest Buddha in NYC, but this time I went to one on Mott. Crazy, crazy, my fortune was quite interesting and it had two things that slightly freaked me out (in a good way). It mentioned a blue moon -- which there was on Friday -- and also about moths. The day before I saw a movie with moths!!!!!! ....So, then I get to the restaurant and meet up with Kizz -- and WTF, she comes in wearing the SAME EXACT FLATS I BOUGHT JUST MOMENTS BEFORE! AHHHH! What are the chances, in this whole entire city of shoes that I would happen to buy the same pair that my friend would be wearing the day we are meeting up!!!! SOOO CRAZY!

Anyway, after freaking out about that. I tell her about my fortune and we discuss....then I tell her I have another fortune from a prior time in my bag and I should see what that says -- to compare. I reach in, look, it has the same words...hmm?... I thought it was it, but guess I was wrong, so I fish around and find another, open that up and OMFG, it's the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got the same fortune twice, months apart, from two different temples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me that isn't freaky?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, after eating, we head to Hotel Chantelle for Monday Bingo with the amazing and hilarious Murray Hill and Linda Simpson. I play the silly mental game of, "If I win, it means this..." and holy crap, I won two times!!!! The first was a lovely beach towel and the Satina Sister dolls, of which I gave to Kizz. She teaches pre-school, so its for the kids....

Anyway, that last part wasn't so strange per se, but in the wake of all this crazy stuff happening I tell my friend about my 119 thing -- how I always see that number in the oddest places. Last time was a few weeks ago when I bought a pair of shoes. When I got them home I noticed one of them had pieces of tape on the inside with numbers on it. I pulled off the top one #256, and the number underneath was 119!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How fucking crazy is that! ....So, tonight, after telling Kizzi about 119, and how people will see it with me in a weird way after I tell them about it, guess what was the jackpot amount for Bingo that night??? $119!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES $119!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And even crazier than that, Kizzi wins it!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN??????? Am I crazy or is the universe trying to tell me something????
